Next Training is being held in Tucson, Arizona, January 19th- April 2nd, 2023

The Radiant Spirt School of Yoga’s 300-Hour teacher training is designed to connect you more fully to the practice of yoga and allow you to explore your dharmic path. With small class sizes limited to no more then six students, you can expect to be a part of a very attentive training that embraces the practice and is tailored to your unique needs and growth.

Led by our skilled and knowledgeable staff, you will find yourself immersed in a practice that will not only enhance your teaching skills but also allow you to journey into your own mind and spirit connection. Designed for both teacher and seeker alike.

 

Our curriculum connects you more fully to the practice of yoga and encourages you to explore your authentic path on and off the mat. Topics include, but are not limited to:

yoga philosophy • journey through yoga’s history, concepts, and more introspective practices to gain a deeper understanding and to more fully connect to the practice

  • The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, including the 8-limb path of Yama, Niyama, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, Samadhi

  • The Bhagavad Gita

  • Select teachings from Vedic texts

  • Application of concepts/practices in and out of the modern classroom

  • Yoga teacher ethics, student/teacher relationships

meditation • release distractions of the physical body and explore the world within in pursuit of inner stillness

  • Insight into various meditation approaches and their benefits, including mindfulness meditation and yoga nidra

  • Vipassanā guidance and practice

  • Meditation as an aid to healing, growth, and transformation

pranayama • learn how breathwork promotes health and facilitates the journey inward

  • Confidently share pranayama techniques, taking contraindications into account

  • Explore pranayama in the context of the physical, subtle, and energetic body

  • Discuss benefits through a traditional and modern lens

subtle body • better understand your true self by connecting to your Sūkṣma-śarīra 

  • Exploration of the 5 koshas, including Taittiriya Upanishad and tantric history

  • Discuss chakras and Qi

  • Apply subtle body principles to practice in and out of the classroom

trauma informed yoga • bring trauma-informed techniques to your teaching

  • Understand trauma and its effects, including nervous system disruption

  • Learn specific trauma-informed techniques, including holding space in the teacher’s seat, trauma-informed language, the intentional inclusion of choice, and more

yoga anatomy & physiology • explore the benefits of functional vs. aesthetic yoga

  • Examine anatomical principles presented in Your Body, Your Yoga by Bernie Clark (provided)

  • Discuss and experience (guided) individual range of motion, limits, and cues

adaptive yoga / modifications • make classes more inclusive and safer for all types of students

  • Learn to recognize and appropriately address the specific needs of students in a group setting or one-on-one

  • Discuss modification guidelines for various populations, including people who are elderly, pregnant, or experiencing chronic pain/health conditions

chair, advanced yin, restorative yoga • learn to guide asana practices that are functional and accessible

  • Insight into the history of each practice, application/purpose/benefits, typical population, sequencing, cueing, props/assists, and more

  • Practice teach with lead teachers and peers

Thai yoga massage • explore this adaptable, complementary technique

  • Includes history, technique, ‘sen’/energy line definition, self-care, and business practices

  • Learn foundational techniques to provide a 60-minute Thai yoga massage or incorporate the technique into private yoga sessions

mantra & mudra • enhance your practice with mantra and mudra

  • Discuss effects of mantra and mudra on the nervous system and body as a whole

  • Explore mantra and mudra use with asana, pranayama, meditation, and more

Business Skills, Professional Development, & Mentoring • explore the intersection of your authentic path and the business of yoga

  • Find your niche and identify complementary income streams

  • Gain tools for leading classes, workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings

  • Discuss studio/wellness center operations basics

 

Upon completion, those with a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification will be able to certify as a 500-hour Yoga Alliance certified teacher.

We will meet for an immersive weekend  as we begin our study together (January 19th-January 22nd, 2023) and end with an immersive weekend (March 30th - April 2nd, 2023). The weeks between we will meet Saturdays and Sundays, in person, from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, with a weekly 1.25 hour sangha via zoom and a weekly class from 5:00pm -9:00 pm via zoom.
