Nourishment for Mind, Body and Spirit
Radiant Spirit Yoga
That is often the response I get when I mention I teach a weekly yoga class and a twice monthly yoga class at Arizona Beer House. For many, it seems like an odd space in which to do your practice. And, I have even has some react in a negative way, claiming yoga cannot be done in a Pub. But, I am here to tell you how amazing it is!
First, the sense of community is strong in this setting. People come in after a long day, roll out their mat, greet one another. Some come with friends, others have made friends with the other brave souls over the course of the time we have been. Practicing. Many are there just for the yoga. Some enjoy hanging out with one another after, sharing a beer or a cider and dishing on their week (while eating a dish from the food truck on hand!). This is a true sangha…a gathering of like mined people. Supporting one another.
Second, this is a free class. Yes, free! We except donations but they are never expected. I can offer these classes for free because the staff and owners at Arizona Beer House are very community minded. They allow us to take up the space, without any charge. In fact, for our twice monthly Bro-Yoga class, the staff member comes an hour early just to open the space up for us! I have a strong sense of yoga being available to all and having a space to offer a free class is such a gift!
Third, not everyone enjoys practicing in a studio setting, there can be many reason, all are valid. Here, the pressure is off. We laugh, we fall, we work to block out the distractions of being in a pub. It is a beautiful group of people in a unique setting.
Finally, yoga can be done anywhere. Asana, meditation, pranayama and breathing? I practice yoga in my car, while shopping and on my mat. I practice outside, I practice in studios, I practice in bed. Yoga has no limits and yoga is for EVERYBODY. The space is just that, a space.
So, expand and join me every Monday night for an all levels flow class from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Stay and enjoy a craft beer and get to know your fellow yogis.
And, gentlemen, we have a class just for you! Every 1st and 3rd Sunday from 9:30 am – 10:30 am.
